This section is for conversation that doesn’t need a specialized forum — friendly talk among clients and trade businesses, off-the-job topics, community culture, and general questions that aren’t quite hiring, technical, or regional.

What this forum section is for

• Community chat — life as a homeowner, running a small trade shop, industry culture (keep it respectful).
• Trade-adjacent topics — tools in the truck, work-life balance, funny job stories (no client PII).
• General TradeLink questions — “how does the forum work?” when it’s not covered in the pinned guide.
• Forum feedback — ideas for categories, clarity on where to post (constructive).
• Events and meetups — trade shows, local association chatter (general location only).
• Everything else — when no other category fits and the topic isn’t urgent hiring or support.

Clients — homeowners, renters, landlords chatting about home life and the trades.

Business members — tradespeople between jobs; your CLIENT or BUSINESS badge shows in every reply.

Everyone — signed in through TradeLink Hub. Guests may read much of the forum; posting requires a Hub account.

House rules

• Be respectful — disagree on ideas, not people. No harassment, slurs, or personal attacks.
• Stay professional enough for a public trade community — clients and competitors read this.
• No spam — ads, coupon dumps, referral chains, unrelated product pitches.
• No politics or religion debates unless directly tied to trade policy (keep rare and civil).
• Protect privacy — no full addresses, phone numbers, or client identifying details in stories.
• Report problems — scams, impersonation, harassment → moderators, not public flame wars.

Before you post

1. Search — your question may belong in a pinned guide or specialized section.
2. Clear title — helps casual browsers join the right conversation.
3. Tag your lens — client vs business when it shapes the story.
4. Spoilers / sensitive topics — label if needed; keep trauma and graphic content out.
5. Urgent account or job issues — use Hub auth and platform support paths, not General Discussion alone.

What not to post here

• Illegal activity, unlicensed work bragging, or evading permits/reviews.
• Doxxing, threats, hate speech, or sexually explicit content.
• Personal data — SSNs, bank info, verification codes, passwords.
• Copyrighted material posted without rights.
• Repeated cross-posts of the same ad across multiple forums.
• AI-generated spam or low-effort link farms.
